I have it, it was useless when we were at Krisso's place. It's good in the high country but less popular places it's lacking... Hema looks like it has better maps

I have it also. It does have its problems. Maps are reasonably good but when I've saved tracks/routes via my iPad I can't see them on other devices without downloading the actual trip data file straight from mudmaps website. It also has some issues when zooming in and out at times, all of a sudden it throws to the ocean or another country.

IMO it is a tad overpriced. Would have been good for half the price I paid for it. Also not the easiest to plan upcoming trips. I would say it's not real user friendly. It can be improved in a lot of areas.

I will disagree with that, I found it very user friendly, and is good for planning trips.
I like the software a lot, I suppose my complaint is that it does not come with enough detailed maps

There must be 2 different versions of it because the version I have is CRAP!

Just one other thing. I would say the map detail is the only thing that is pretty good about Mudmaps. The rest of it is garbage.

Haha I'm tipping the above reviews don't yet change the confusing situation. These apps can be a lot of money so maybe see if you can have a look and play with someone's who has it already before spending big. Obviously not always possible.

I have the High Country Maps for mudmap and they are very good... I also have Ozi explorer and it left that for dead for ease of use and for detail.

The mudmap showed many many more tracks that Ozi did not and was easier to see.

Now I do not have any other maps so that is my only experience with it.

Perhaps the difference between Winnie and Patrol-guy relate to which version of MudMaps they are using.
I use the Hema Maps App, which is a re branded version of Memory Map that includes all the Hema Touring maps. I like it and it works for me. There is a desktop app that you can use to plan trips, you can scan your own maps and use them and I think the interface is generally quite simple to use.
That said, I own a copy of MudMap HD(superseded version) which I find irritatingly lacking in all areas and they replaced it with a much better version, MudMap 2 (the one Winnie has I think) only a week or so after I paid full price for the one I have......as you can imagine, not especially happy with that particular circumstance. Winnie's seems to work quite well but I'm happy with what I have.
Knowing what I know now, I would probably go the FREE download of MemoryMap, pay the $50 extra for the license to import maps and use that functionality. I use my own scanned maps driving around in the high country WAY more than I use anything that came in the Hema bundle.
    That's my 2c

Yes, sorry I am using Mud Map 2.

I also use scanned versions of Rooftop Maps on Memory Map when travelling through the High Country, when going into other areas that I don't have maps for though I use Mud Map 2.
