I put a set of these on my Tarmac rally car last weekend, couldn't be happier.
Build in ballast, neat and tidy wiring to the hi beam and all set to go.

if you have spotties {halogen} you could buy a slimline HID kit and fit them yourself.
Slimline is just the size of the ballast, colour wise 6000K is a nice white light with just a hint of Blue.
The blue helps cut through the air.

As mudski has mentioned earlier, I don't want to get a crap kit. If I can $$$ wise would like to upgrade the hi/lo beam lights as well. What have people found to be good value.

HID headlights are on the way out I think and 72watt LEDs with a fan for your hi/lo requirements are the go
Stropp just fitted them and some LED 9" driving lights.
LED have a long way to go to get distance but give out a great white spread of light.
All my HID kits have cost $100 and under and still going strong 4 years later. even all my "cheap"
interior led's are still working "every" globe on my patrol are either led or HID

You can get the same in 9 inch and they all come with clear plastic clip on covers. I think the 9 inch are only $20 more.
