For other who are searching and found this thread, the difference is the Dawes is used for Variable Vane Turbo's which are vacuum controlled turbos and do NOT have a wastegate, like the ZD30 Patrol, 2.5Ltr Navara, Tritons etc etc. The boost controller the OP has shown is commonly used for any other setup that uses a boost pressure controlled waste gated turbo. Like a TD42, RD28, ZD30 Navara etc etc.
same reason we don't need a boost and vac gauge only boost, if you get a boost/ vac gauge and try to fit it using supplied instructions it will run in vac and only spike into the boost zone occasionally if your lucky.
