Dolphins are so smart that within a few weeks of captivity, they can train people to stand on the very edge of the pool and throw them fish.

I really enjoy mans ability to build stuff, our karts when we raced were marvellous machines built well and a pleasure to the eye, Bugatti's, Ducati's they all have something about them.
This Patrol is starting to come together and also is a pleasure to the eye, Well done Figjam
Cheers

I made some progress over the last two days.
I shifted the cab across from the old to our new workshop.

The engine and transmission are finally mated together and now sitting in the chassis

The cab is on but I need to cut the inner guards to clear the front shock towers. They are holding the front about 30mm off the cab mounts at the moment.

Hopefully I can rotate the turbo down a bit so the bulge in the bonnet isnt too high!!! The guard still needs to drop about 20-25 mm at this point
I am a short arse 160cm but you get some idea of current height on stockish springs.

looking good the build I mean lol
are you stengthening the rear chassis with gusset plates.
Havent read complete thread
04 ST 3lt auto, not enough Mods to keep me happy, but getting there
Not much length (for compression)in the front shock before it bottoms out in the second pic, do you need to adjust the bump stops?
looks great Ewan, better every time i see it.
2003 gu3 td42tdi sold 😞 bloody gvm towing crap. Bt50 3500kg gvm.
It looks worse than it actually is. Because of the difference in radius being less from the pivot point to the shock than the front axle, the suspension will still bottom out on bumpstop first.
(Note that I have to fit standard height springs to comply with "licensing requirements" so there is not going to be a lot of upward travel) May fit slightly taller springs at a later date if bottoming too often.
We have gone with hydraulic bump stops to allow for minimal clearance at full compression. The lamination on the top of the front portal axle also fouled with the engine sump and would have reduced travel even further so we lifted the engine another 20mm.
