Just found this post on ebay... very interesting. I'm sure I got the same knife from China for about AU$13.00 and also pretty sure it isn't a Damascus blade....

My prefernce George is for the Phrobis M9 version.... its a good, heavy blade. The wire cutter really does work and it will last. (the Smith & Wesson will too but for the price... and ask OD what I think of serrations on a knife...)
What do you want it for? To do with it?

If you are looking for a knife like the M9, go the 1 from the Etoto-shop seller with everything included.
Most sawback knives are for show only and are usually rubbish and impractical. The all in 1 version's sawback is a pra tical example of doing a sawback the right way.
I highly recommend that version over the other 2 for price, versatility and overall functionality.
99.9% you are going to have wire cutters in your rig so to spend extra just for that ability in my opinion is a waste of money unless you are planning on having it as a display piece or becoming thw next generation Delta Force lol.
Sawbacks like sheathes can make or break a good knife.
Gecko has seen my collection of fixed blade so called "survival" knives and that 1 is still up the top as 1 of the best all round knives for its price. The metal handle is also hollow and has tie points "if" the need arises for use as a spear.
I did do a small write up on it earlier in the thread about that particular knife. The only things I am changing on the knife is swapping out the cord for paracord and "possibly" swapping out the led torch / lighter / signal mirror combo to individual dedicated pieces as opposed to all in 1.
The combo is actually a very smart unit in its design but could be done a bit better, same with the small sheath it comes with on the belt strap, I will be remaking a dedicated leather 1 to replace it.
I am guessing like myself, that TD and Gecko will be more than happy if you dropped us a line before buying knives, even if you give us what you are looking for in a knife and a budget, can almost garuantee that we will find it for you and in a lot of cases, cheaper than you may think.
