The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever.

Angry is probably too strong a word.

    Disappointment.

I had arranged for a weekend off, it's been a shit of a year and I need a weekend alone, me and my swag, deep in the bush to simply enjoy the piece and quiet. To enjoy being in the bush for the first time since our teen decided to become a bigger pain in the arse.

This is actually a coping mechanism for me. Keep it simple, no fuss, absolutely nothing that isn't needed.

My wife has now arranged for relatives to have all the kids and is coming. Now I love my wife and have been trying to spend a weekend alone for months, it didn't have to be this bloody weekend. Now I'm having to pack a ton of shit I don't need and take the bloody camper and then I'm going to have to clean and pack everything away.

I'm sure it sounds ungrateful, but I need some bloody time away from everybody!

    Rant over.

    The Nissan Maxima is Automatic.

I tell you what driving the Patrol Home (Manual) was not the most pleasant drive I have had.

Not ungrateful at all buddy. Everyone needs their time alone and it's a little bit of a shame your wife doesn't realise your call out for this.

Am sure she is probably trying to help and do what she thinks you need though.

The wife needs a break as well. We have a teen who was suicidal earlier this year, over the past 12 months we've gone through a heck of a roller coaster and fortunately a combination of antidepressants and other medications, counseling and change of school have come a long way to resolving some of those issues. Unfortunately we also have some long term mental health issues to deal with as well. Managing a mental illness is hard work for everybody, its extremely hard work when your the parent.

My break will have to be the australia day get together

    Cheers
    J.

Was having a great chat with jonez911 when all of a sudden my back went and that was that.
Ben gave me a hand as its painful as all get out when it happens, still sore now 1/2 hr later.
Tooks some meds and resting, that has made me angry, every friggen day it will "go" at least once.

I feel for you mate, I really do.

I was crawling under the patrol doing things no fat man should ever consider doing when my upper back went out on the weekend, an hour at the bone cracker did wonders. I couldn't imagine living with that daily over an extended period.
