That's not $1000 for juice alone is it???

I'm looking at around $400 for a 2000km trip...so pretty happy with that

OK, thanks Kat, you rock !!
On Gas you should average 20 Litres per 100 K's so for round Trip of say 2200 K's (allowing for Trips) Fuel Costs should be approx $290 . Not bad for 4.5 Litre vehicle. Would hate to do it on Petrol though

Besides the fuel tank is too small. I've 12 months to rectify that ! bigger gas and petrol tanks. And depends on what I tow. Big caravan or little one.

If you're carrying weight and doing diet roads, I hate to be pragmatic, but there isn't a 6 or 8 cylinder out there that's going to get 20 lph on gas ... sorry boys and girls. Work on 24-26 and that could still be conservative.

Still better than on petrol as Bob states - and come to think of it, that's going to be my dilemma ... and for nearly triple that distance (just shy of 6000 klms for the trip we are looking at).

Diet roads are good, you use less fuel on them. WARNING over use of Diet roads may lead to vehicles running lean which could manifest itself as fuel starvation.
