I didn't hear about this one but leave the rules the way thay are I say....... thay have worked just fine for decades.

I heard about it. It's an easy way to stop blamming the goal umpires for mistakes and for not introducing video umpires or second goal umpire on each end.

But what happens if it hits the post and bounces back into the oval. Is it still game on???

I think this new rule can only applied to balls that go through the goal posts & hit or skim them on thay way past but still make it through (what would normally be given as a point).

I don't think video umpiring is such a bad idea as thay don't make mistakes

Personally I don't want the AFL to change the scoring rules as they currently stand. But if they introduce it into the pre-season comp it would be intersting to see how it worked but I wouldn't hold my breath about the main game changing like that.

As far as video replays go, I'm undecided. I can see for and against arguments for it but I think probably 2 goal umps would be a better idea.

I'd rather not see it even get as far as the pre season but I do understand the need for improvement as games are won & lost over these decisions & either or even both a video & second umpire will aid in this for sure & then thay can just leave the rules as thay are.
