Yeh mate, when we first moved here back in mid 2011 we were unloading the truck n cars and my brother in law took some stuff around the back through the garage, my daughter followed him around and we were still out front, all we heard was an ear piercing scream from our daughter. The neighbors dog ( can't remember what breed now ) had gotten into our back yard and had my daughter bailed up, snapped at her but lucky never got her.

But she hasn't been the same since, very slowly getting better but still scared shit less of em.

Worked out a few weeks later that the owner whom was wheel chair bond belted the living shit out of his dog

Thankfully he has moved on

The best way to overcome a phobia is to confront it.....children are remarkably resilient. One of my daughters friends was also terrified of dogs and used to insist that ours be outside when she was visiting but has become conditioned to the dog over time and now wants one of her own!
She must have been really spooked by a dog at some point.
