On the day I turned 18 I walked into the local police station and hit the cop up for a firearms licence, paid $20 on the spot at walked out with it 10 minutes later, that was back in 1983, how things have changed....for the worse to.

I didn't think there were firearms licences until 95. All we had to have up till then (in Tassie at least) was a hunting licence which you would just go into the local sports shop and get in most cases a day or two before a particular season opened.
