Is your engine, smoking or using oil, gumming up spark plugs or is there a lot of blow-by when running? Or does it only smoke on start up?

I am thinking give it an oil change with a heavier grade oil and see if the petrol smell returns.

So I ended up just swapping the manifolds over found that they had already snapped the bolt off in the block down closest to the firewall and then also one of the threads from inside the block was stripped out so you would just screw the bolt in and out with fingers so now the one closest the fire wall has no bolts in it and it just got a bit of goop im hoping this wont cause me to many dramas?

You can buy a recoil thread repair kit, or there are mobile thread repairers that can do the job. With the Recoil kit comes a plastic tap tool that stripped out really easily, so I had to use tap wrench.

With the snapped studs, you can try drilling a hole into them and use Easy Outs.

Yeah I was gonna use the easy outs but I wasnt really to sure if I could get away with not having the bolts in I think ill only have that motor in the car for maybe 6 months before I swap back out
