Heading home, we are over it. Being here for 9 hours now. Had ultrasound but the appendix is behind the uterus so they can't tell. Ultrasound operator said she doesn't know why they even bothered to get one done. Need a ct scan!!!
Won't get scan until tomoz and Leah is feeling a bit better for now and doesn't want to spend night there so ill just keep an eye out tonight.
Pretty pissed off to say the least ....9 hours for something that was not going to help anyway!

Thanks my third, that matches with what I’ve just been reading. It didn’t mention heating the brass with an oxy torch, but did make reference to crystallising caused by leaching out of the zinc component of the brass when the brass has not been made to ‘corrosion resistant’ standards & used for hard & chlorinated water. Result is the material remaining is a “ copper-rich sponge with poor mechanical properties, and color changed from yellow to red” (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Selective_leaching).
Bottom line is that from reading that wikipedia article & this one (not that I understood most of it) is that crystallising of the brass is clearly what happened. Makes me feel more comfortable that we don’t have a house full of water pipes all on the verge of disintegrating.
