I have only just had a chance to get down the shed now Winnie. I'm not like you, on holidays, no kids, no responsibilities...lol

Ok I have come to a slight halt and need advice please!!!!

The output elbow for the ht18 is an equilateral triangle and I was planing on simply rotating anticlockwise in the direct path of the piping for intercooler hot side, perfect...no

I knew it would be close but it hits the actuator.

    So I have two solutions

The actuator is held on by itself welded to a plate which has two bolts to the turbo.

    1) DARREN and I had quick chat on phone and was going to simply loosen bottom bolt, drill a bit out on the top hole of the plate to rotate it outwards a bit.

The arm that switches the release has a bit of play which would work but after loosening the bolts there is not enough plate nor not enough rotating to get it clear.

At a guess I need the actuator approx 10mm going down.

So I could possibly take the whole actuator out and at a guess there should be enough plate to drill the holes out a bit to move the whole thing down a bit.

    2) I still have a full 180 degree mandrel bend 2" pipe I could simply leave it as normal path and put the 180 bend on to get back down to where I want it to go.

Is this creating a too long of piping length to the engine?

Keeping in mind this only a 6 month temporary install so when the bigger turbo gets put on it will all change for the better of course.

    Any help gents???

Would of been great if I could somehow put a spacer on that elbow where the gasket sits!!

I'm leaning towards taking it off, drilling out the holes a bit and dropping the actuator bugger it!!!

Does anyone know how to get the arm off from the turbo side that does the actuation? Just take the clip off and that pin comes out or?

Spoke to Matty and he agrees so off with the actuator next weekend!!!

Apparently the arm is spring loaded and is a bit of a pita to get back on, fun times ahead!!!

I wouldnt be to worried by a longer pipe length AB it wont hurt anything especially if its only temp till the next turbo goes on. Some people in cars with no room have run turbos behind the diff and have pipe from there foward and apparently they work pretty good. im sure someone will tell me im wrong but a longer line shouldnt have much of an affect on lag or boost and it will help with cooling a little. The only down side i see is itl go from 2inch to 3inch but as said its only a temp fix. id save some of the hard design for the new turbo. Thats my 3 1/2 cents. Great now im poor.

I was thinking the same mate. I don't think moving the actuator will be too hard though so I'll have a go first and if all else fails, plan B....

Or would something like this be easier????

Ill have a look tonight and see if even a straight pipe will still hit it...

Just checked and this flange will still hit the wastegate damn it!!!

Also was told today that the actuator arm needs to be exactly 90 degrees coming out from the wastegate so ill see how it sits once moved but may need to bend the rod a bit.

Unfortunately slow steps in this thread due to lack of time during the week.

Removed the wastegate. That actuator arm is spring loaded and in a crappy spot.

Can't wait to force the spring loaded arm back on this weekend!!!
