How clean is clean on a MAF

    photo.JPG

    G'day team.
So I have taken the MAF off and I was expecting to see all kinds of crap on it, but to my surprise it looks pretty clean.
My question is how clean is clean? & how do I clean it anyway.
I have some sca contact cleaner would that do the job?
    Thanks in advance.

You haven't got the maf fully out use torx screws to take it out and spray it with maf cleaner for any auto store. Do not touch it just spray and let dry. It won't look dirty but oil films are what majestic the poor readings.

I put mine on a piece of paper towel and then spray the cleaner. Before I installed the provent separator I always had a bit of oily film on the paper. Now when I clean the MAF I dont see any film at all. I still give it a spray every 10,000 kms just to be sure.

SCA sell the cleaner for about $20 a can, don't use other cleaners on it though.

X2. If you use a cleaner that leaves any residue it may affect the proper operation of the MAF. The MAF cleaner is not expensive and lasts for a long time.
