G'day Lounge Lizards,
My wife and I have been busy over the last couple of weeks organising family to fly up and help my wife, while I fly down to the Prince of Wales hospital on the 30th June to commence my 6 weeks Hyperbaric chamber and Anti-Map antibiotic treatment.
It has been one hell of a journey for my family and I over the last 3 and a half years. From cancerous polyps in the bowel and then finally being struck down with the dreaded Crohns disease. My life has literally been turned upside down.
After 21 operations under general anaesthetic in the last 3 years, my treating specialist Professor Thomas Borody from The Centre for Digestive Diseases (CDD) in Sydney has decided that I try a new radical procedure in a final attempt to put my Crohns disease into remission and hopefully get my life back on track.
A special thanks to the Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) who have agreed to pay the costs. Without DVA's support I would have died a couple of years ago.
For the first time in my life I am starting to get excited with the real possibility of achieving "quality of life"!
Over the next six weeks whilst living in a lodge near the hospital, I should be provided with fresh material to spin you all some new yarns. lol
PS, from my family and I, thanks to you all over the last 2 years for your support and friendship. With-out it, I would have been in an even deeper depressive state.
Kind regards,
Paul
