What's wrong with the swivel hub? The cross member bolts are a pain, I have one that's stripped the captive nut in the chassis rail.
swivel hubs are like a boghole is how he described them, brown goo![]()

Got the radiator back, and was told the minor leak was not the cause of the coolant loss. I followed my mate's advice and took off the fan belt and ran the motor to check for bubbles at the head ( attached a half plastic bottle to one of the sensor holes). When I revved the engine water blurted out so I have taken the head off. Found two of the stainless steel rings on the gasket have split. My mate has taken the head to pressure test and machine. He had a quick check of the known spots that the heads crack and found nothing. Also found that the exhaust manifold was warped, explains why I get fumes under heavy acceleration, so he is gunna machine that too.
My advice is: not to follow my advice.

Gday fellas, need some help. My front tyres on my 06 GU Ute were wearing oddly so I got her up on the stands and gave the wheel a wobble, I have movement up and down but NOT side to side, the hub and brake rotor move with the wheel, is it safe to say the bearings are gone? Both outer shoulders (fronts) were more worn than the others but unevenly between the two, is this just a camber issue? Any help would be awesome.
G,day, aarron, and welcome to the forum. Do the bearings make a rumbling sound when you spin the wheels. If not, the bearings may just need a re-grease and to be adjusted properly. Try the search function as I am sure there are threads on how to to bearings.

Any ideas on the un even shoulder wear?
Thanks in advance.
Check all of the bushes on the front axle and suspension. Also check the swivel hub bearings (king pins). Do the wheel bearings and get a wheel alignment.

Jack the car up and check for bearing play, if no bearing play check your tyre pressure! Tyre pressure on road is so important just ask a truck driver!. Wheel alignment wont have much to do with shoulders wearing on tyres as there is no camber adjustment on diff. Hubs are secured by the king bing bearings top and bottom.
If you have movement up and down your king bearings are worn,
Everyone that owns a patrol should strip one side of a front diff, once you do you'll understand so much more.
