Like i said mate it was cheap, the bloke at the market had $15 on it and i walked away with it for under $10 lol. If and when the hilt breaks ( still very soft and rubbery ) the ally cap on the bottom unscrews so i should be able to change it with maybe a home made wooden handle, Maybe polished red gum??

All good on the bargain price, I do the same. If the blade does come out, it would look sweet with a nice wooden handle

I have a Browning skinner that matches your knife George .
I sometimes buy redgum from Bunnings, sometimes you get a bit of wiggly gum pattern Pictured

I also the upswept finger skinner version as well as this one, both very good little blades

Cheers mate! When i unscrew the bottom there's a couple of mm of play in it so i rekon i could push it out with chisel, one of those long thin ones for cotter pins

My old man has a bit of tonnage at home for his fireplace lol, he's got a bit of redgum and mountain ash but i think he might have some off cuts of our floorboards which are tassie oak so i got lots to choose from lol

I got my mum to stitch this up for me out of canvas to house my DR knifes. Came up a treat!!
