Winnie, have you got HID kits in your spotties? I am keen to fit a decent light bar, but only as a supplement to the HID pencil beams I have already. The HID's just have sooooo much reach it isn't funny, but with two pencil beams, there is a bit of middle ground that at a good light bar would fill in nicely, but I doubt could replace the HID. Your set up could be different so I am not suggesting you are wrong or anything, but I'd be surprised if a light bar outshone a good HID for that distance factor. They seem to work so well together from what I have seen.
Between Patrols ATM. Had a beaut GU with 6.5 Chev TD. Next is a GU ute with a 4.5 litre Cummins conversion and a camper on the back.

Yeah mine are HID. I just never do any type of driving where I need to see 19kms down a straight road. I have a light bar on the roof as well.

The Simmo is coming up!!! Lots of long wide open spaces getting out there and back. I take your point though. Each to his own.

It's just all the roads and tracks that I drive here are very windy, spotlights are almost pointless if you've got a lightbar. In all honesty I'll probably stick with what I've got for a fair while.

I have 2 spot 35w hid spotties and a 30" light bar and to be honest they both shine the same length down the road only real benefit i see with the spotties are they add a tiny bit of extra light in the middle. I thought that was enough but after my last night drive thru some hilly, winding roads the addition of a roof mounted light would aid in seeing whats over a crest plus help not give you tunnel vision lol

Sorry Parksy i totally forgot about the tape mate, first thing in the morning i'll get onto it and post it up for ya mate!
