Just on our way home from shopping on the Hume travelling north and we have just driven past a person texting while driving, to top things off its an instructor from learn to drive safely driving school. Well needless to say I let him know my thoughts.

Yer it's a worry. Coming home at Easter on the freeway in the l/h lane sitting on 110 kmh when this young chick in the fast lane haulin arse nearly drives right into my drivers door. Had to swerve so she didn't hit me.look down at her and she was texting or checking Facebook or something. Gave her a quick blast on the horn she swerved back into her lane then gives me the big one finger out the window

Seems to be the only answer wrong and sad as it is.

Dunno about Victoria but in Queensland it's 3 points & $330 - regrettably I know this first hand as about 2mths I picked up my phone to see who was calling me because my blue tooth was playing up on stereo & I couldn't answer it.
Drove straight past a cop doing RBT on side of the road. Needless to say flashing lights & fish tailing cop car came racing after me.
Bluetooth issue was sorted within hours!! BUT that's how easy it is to do the wrong thing and endanger yourself & others

Yes and No. I'm one these women who rips into anyone using their flipping phones whilst driving so when I did it was horrified .....
In a residential area doing 50. Think the troll woulda made a real mess if a kid ran out on the road in front of me whilst I was distracted.
The cop was bewildered when I genuinely thanked him for booking me - needs to be more of it because the loss of points & dollars seems to be all that "some" drivers pay attention to and that's nothing compared to the potential for loss of life
