Is it worth shimming a diff?

Hey guys thinking about shimming my diff in my shorty
Just wondering I it's worth doing or should I just up and
    Get locker?
I've heard they can be shimmed pretty tight but I've also
    Heard they wear out quickly?
    What's everyone think?
    Cheers
    Josh

I have a few mates who have shimmed theirs, and I am about to shim mine. Works awesome and is nowhere near the cost of a locker!

    Cheers

Rear diff gasket is leaking a bit so while its all

If your pulling it out anyway then I would defiantly do it! Cheap as and almost as good as a locker!

exactly if your pulling it out and doing it yourself put the locker in as you said it's only almost as good as a locker!

Shim it, works as good as a locker but you dont break stuff. Road runner offroad sells shims cheap. I shimmed mine and its been unstoppable for years now.

Shim the LSD. that way you still have a limmo for on road and dirt driving not just a single spinner.
