    Thanks Threedogs,
My chip has seven steps. They are selected using a small jumper and not using a rotary dial. They are normally delivered set at 4, after installation the guy who fitted it had set it to 3 and told me that when they dyno'd the vehicle they were actually losing HP if they went any higher. Printout shows pre chip and exhaust 110HP, after fitting 130HP. I guess I expected the thing to feel like greased lightning after the way they sold it. I initially only wanted an exhaust and was told I would be disappointed if I didn't add a chip. Was even told that a chip by itself would be more beneficial than an exhaust alone. So I got both. Would have liked a dyno of the pipe alone but they didn't supply one. When I said that I could not feel much difference with and without the chip, they started to blame the intercooler and tried to say that if I put a $1300 upgraded IC on and was still disappointed that Berrima Diesel would agree to up the tune in the chip by reprogramming. So we have gone from a supposed stand alone upgrade using the chip ($1800) to chip and exhaust ($3200) for a 20HP gain (on paper anyway) and a suggestion that to feel satisfied I need to spend another $1300 on an intercooler. And then they told me all this extra power will tear the clutch to bits eventually so I should probably just throw away the standard one and they would install a nice heavy duty one for some more money. At this point I used my angry face and was not offered a price. I went home and installed an $80 thermo fan to the intercooler and can now run the chip on setting 4 where I can at least feel that it is doing something.

WOW Dyno will sort things out I was told to do both as you would feel little difference by one alone.
I'm happy as exhaust and chip was around $1500. We've just had a talk about how over priced ICs are,
but they have us by the short ones I'm afraid. how many rWkw did you develop
04 ST 3lt auto, not enough Mods to keep me happy, but getting there

With my chip and exhaust, I felt pretty disappointed but soon realised the difference was quite substantial especially overtaking, going up hills and especially towing.
Fuel consumption was better over stock aswell. From 15 to low 13's and I drive mine like a go kart.
I fitted a DPChip also but went 3" Taipan exhaust.

Yeah, I'm starting to realise the gain isn't like standing start accelleration, rather more to do with highway overtaking, towing etc. The other day, coming back from Gladstone I caught up to a truck sitting right on 100kph and when I overtook him, I left it in 5th (never did that in the 2.8) moderate accelerator and hit 140 as I finished passing. Problem was the vendor made out I would get a woody every time I drove the car, and that is what made the sale. If he had of been honest and said "It's a 4WD not a drag Car" (which I should have known anyway), I might not have been so pissed off. Still disappointed that the Beaudesert exhaust sounds like driving miss daisy, but as long as it does the rest of it's job I'll get over it. Might just remove the muffler and see what it sounds like then.

I'm not one that likes that loud drone some mufflers put out, but that's me.
When the chip is turned up it does boogie.
Just need to remember 110kw to 130kw is like a 20% gain unlike a 210 to 230kw gain in other cars.
Torque is higher where it matters.
