Lucas, have you thought of getting 36" Jungle Trekkers? Might help prevent you getting bogged.

Not in quite the same league as some of you pork chops, but bogged is bogged & we weren’t going anywhere without assistance.

How. Thinking “there’s a good spot opposite to do a u turn” & taking little notice that the red dirt was wet.
Where. On the opposite side of the road to the observatory in Dubbo.
How did I get out. When piling gravel under the wheels failed, the nice little old lady from the observatory offered to try to pull us out with a rope tied to something inside the boot of her Magna sedan. After convincing her, with some difficulty, that trying to pull 6+ tonnes of bus & trailer would damage her car we were ‘rescued’ by a local vineyard owner who pulled us out with his Landcruiser ute in low first.
What did I learn. a)Wet red dirt is not compatible with forward motion b) that getting bogged right next to the bitumen makes you feel like a prize plonker & c) that every cloud has a silver lining. Vineyard owner let us camp on his property overnight & in the morning his 80 year old father knocked on our door with a huge bag of freshly picked mushrooms for our brekkie.

Same happened to my dad in Spain. They call it "terra rossa" (read earth).

Cool - I love stuck threads

    How - Didn't deflate

How - Damned FJ Cruiser in front of me slowed down, so I was still in 2nd gear

How - Arrived at check point so didn't want to go to fast over the dune.
How'd I get out - On my own so a lot of digging

    Double Stuck
How - The Jeep got stuck, on the previous dune, then again on this one. Without thinking I stopped to ask him what he was playing at. DOH
What'd I learn - Never park next to a Jeep

How: got excited, didn't test the hole, noticed there was very little track after the hole and listened to kris...you'll be right!!!

    Where: Big river area

How did I get out: Rossco snatch from rear.

What I learnt: if the exit of the hole looks like it hasnt been used in years there is a good chance you won't make it.....and don't listen to kris...lolImageUploadedByMotorculture1385634862.461767.jpg
