Wow your powering on.
Looking good. Missed that your an sa boy so welcome.
Have a look at rafa's shower thread as he's just done a similar thing. Worked well.
Bummer about the tyre.
Do a little research On this as your not the first to have it happen. Could be a little technique you need to change.
Anyway keep it up. I'm feeling a sa meet up early next year but I'll post up when closer.
Cheers.
yeah, got some spare time most days, so it helps and access to almost all the tools i need here at home and if i need anything else im sure to know someone, its just funds that hold me back some days,
yeah its been a bad week for tyres, one fell off one went flat, my sister had a flat tyre at her place the other morning when she went to take her kids to school, so im getting good at changing them, yeah got told its a common issue with patrols and studs, ill look into it a bit,
Yeah a SA meet would be great, just got to start saving some money to do it, worst part is the 700km to Adelaide from here but ill work on it, keep me posted
DMP is it possible to release the awning from the roof rack so you can nick off in the car without packing everything up or is it permanently attached? Even a quick detach system and let the awning collapse on itself so you can still disappear with the bus for a drive?
cheers
mick
it could be done if you were to make a couple of extra poles to hold the side that goes to the car and make a release for the awning, but at this stage i had not really thought too much about it, one day i might do something but for now around here i usually just set up for a couple of days and stay there
2" front 3" rear and no sway bars, didnt think it flexed this much but im happy with it
also may be able to see a bit but not the best i built new roof rack to hold my basket as my old ones just were too weak
Nice setup mate, I've only just purchased a 08 patrol last week so havent had anytime to have a play but will be heading down your way to sir isaccs in the near future to test her out
thanks guys, im very happy with the way its turned out for a budget build
Dave when you do give me a yell and ill see if im free, always keen to get out with to do more 4wding, heading to 7 mile at coffins next weekend for camping with a couple of mates
Yeah will do Mate, My father in law has a property at wangarri so hopefully we'll be down then a fair bit.
That national park is an awesome getaway for a few days, hope you have a great time. it's been about 3 years since i've been there, a bunch of mates and i camped at sir isaccs for 3 nights and could of easily spent another 3 there.
