    Evo's GU

    Hey guys,

Just thought I'd put up a bit about my troll and what's been done/on the to do list.

I had a 1979 XC Falcon 500 ute, pride and joy, and after having an offer made on it that I couldn't refuse, I started 4x4 shopping.

Love Patrols, had a GQ previously with 7" lift and 35" Cooper STT's.
Wanted something a bit more modest in lift and also something newer.

Found this series 1 GU just around the corner from where I lived, October 1998, one owner, dual fuel TB45E powered wagon.

Absolutely standard apart from a set of Pro Comp rims.

Since picking it up, it has had...
    - 305 70 R16 Summit Mud Hogs
    - 80ch UHF
    - Rock sliders
    - Aux fuel tank upgrade to 80 litre
    - Full length roof cage
    - Rear LED light bar
    - Double din MP3/USB/Bluetooth head unit
    - Reverse camera
    - Pacemaker extractors and full 2.75" high flow Beaudesert exhaust
    - ARB twin swing away wheel carrier

Next on the list (hopefully over the next 3-4 weeks)...
    - 2 new rims for spares
    - Snorkel
    - 3" or 4" lift (can't decide but will have to in the next day or two as booking in this week)
    - Dual battery setup
    - Awning

The idea is to set it up so it will be a good touring rig, but will also be very offroad capable.

Any comments or suggestions would be much appreciated.

    Photos to come.

    Cheers,

    Evo

    Haha, thanks.
I don't have any pics of when I got it, and unfortunately I won't have the beast back until possibly Friday as it is having issues with the long range sub tank...
Will have pics up over the weekend.

    Cheers,

Ok, here are some pictures as promised.
Note that the '2 new rims for spares' can now be moved from 'to do' to 'done'

    Cheers bud.

Funny thing is the ones on the back, although they don't look it, are the same size as what's on it...
    Optical illusion?
Snorkel, front recovery points and new air filter on the way. Should all be here and fitted by next weekend.
Lift should be booked in by next weekend (just waiting on my quote).
Plus picked it up yesterday with the sub tank issues all sorted, just need to test it now.
