Pretty cheap to get from a wrecker i think.
Does it feel like it cuts out ever so briefly or is it a straight up backfire? If it is cutting out it maybe the coil packs or the crank angle sensor

yep id say its the coil pack or the crank angle sensor. Try the coil packs first as they are cheaper. I got a genuine crank angle sensor from holden (for my vs calais) for a bit over 100 bucks from memory.
