Not me. I have a redarc SBI24D setup on one system in our bus, which sounds like it might be similar, (as well as a separate stand alone solar setup) & a Redarc BCDC1240 setup in the Patrol. To be honest out of the large number of people I know who have RV's of one sort or another, I have never heard anyone refer to the use of the Cole Hersee product.

I have a Cole-Hersee in mine, currently it's a pain in the butt as previous owner wired it negative isolated which I still haven't got around to change yet.

Make sure it is wired positive isolated, that way you isolate the batteries "properly" so it doesn't draw from both when only 1 is selected.

Being negative isolated, when either battery is selected, it currently draws from both unless they are both switched off.

Yendor or 1 of the other Sparky Guru's here would be best to answer that but my understanding is that the main 12v will from alternator to Crank battery, Crank to Hersee, Hersee back to Accessory battery.

So basically what I'm getting at is I've been told to wire it wrong where soon as I power my acc thru ignition its joining the two battery's together.

not necessarily, from memory they were originally designed for marine applications hence the negative isolating (got me stuffed why) but can be wired both ways.

there is a series of installation diagrams available over at the cole hersee site itself.

here is a positive wiring diagram - note marine referrences

I have included the info / install sheet supplied by Cole-Hersee itself

My mate gave the hersee brand new in a box so I made use of it. So now I'ts time to change it to something more suiting the application.

So the question now being whats going to be the most reliable,
