Heard from another member who just had his Patrol engineered that they will now measure height from the Door handle.

As soOn as you wire into driving light system then you deal with pairs, etc..
I don't believe this to be correct. A 12000 lumen lightbar is not a worklight. Every cop in the land will bust you for having a separately switched forward facing lightbar.
If it was correctly wired in, you would be very unlucky to be done for having too many forward facing lights.

It's written black and white in the regs.. No limit on work lights.. I can't see how they could do you for it if not wired to lights..
But I've never heard of anyone being done just for a light bar.. It's usually something bigger and then they start picking..

Exactly. If your ride looks reasonably clean and presentable with no obvious crazy lift and tyres the cops won't bother. +4inch lift and 35's is cop bait.

I read it as any light wired into the high beam circuit has to be facing forward and wired threw a switch. So a work light can face award but wired separately.
But I guess it's how they interpret it on the night..

Here in Vic I believe you only allowed no more than 8 forward facing lights. Hi and lo beam are counted as separate. Have heard that some cops are counting every LED as a single light. Then booking you for having more than 8 forward facing lights.

Good luck with that one in court. I reckon I could represent myself and beat that one!

Thing is though, like was pointed out earlier if you keep it looking nice and tidy the cops are unlikely to pull you over in the first place.
