    Boost in park

Hi all just noticed yesterday if I rev the Patrol whilst in "park" the motor produces boost.
It never did this before but thinking it must be because I have the EGR blocked.
Is this normal as now exhaust turns turbo ???
    Any ideas

Would it be the same as a manual reving in neutral ? I can get boost when I rev mine, not as high as when driving though

Do You have EGR blocked as well,
Before my mechanic said as it wasn't under load it would be nil boost.
But now the EGR is blocked and as you I get boost not as much as under load [driving]
@ MEH is yours a 3 ltr DI

Same here. I can get very low boost when revving in neutral, maybe 4psi max

From my knowledge all 3L do this from stock. We just noticed this on a brand new common rail we got when comparing to my DI.

My best guess is that it assists with speeding up the low RPM boost by already having the waste gate fluttering (at idle)

You have an auto too which places a little bit of load on the motor compared to a manual. I wouldn't worry to much as ironman said to get the best out of such a little motor it needs to be ready to go.

I don't normally rev it as I have no need but was waiting for someone idling and gave it a few taps on the throttle,
Cant see it doing any harm as Patrol is running like a swiss clock Atm lol. Just curious, so thanks to all for your answers

Is it unusual for mine to be doing it?
