    Crockett's Q

Here's a pic of my one, being stock it's not very compelling.
Has a natural TD42 through a manual, hitting the road on standard size Maxxis Ats.
The only upgrade it has (cheers FJ ) is a set of 2 inch Kings with Castor correction bushes.
The bullbar is a new one, and there is a space for a winch that is yet to be filled.
The one thing I do want to do to it to start with, is change the middle row seats so as to have a shoulder seat belt for my kids. That way I can have a cargo barrier and rear draws.
It will end up being a tourer of sorts, is the plan at this stage, to tow one of my other projects, the camper I'm rebuilding in non existent spare time

The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever.

Just so they have a shoulder harnes each. It's the only thing Nissan didnt think of in my opinion, and if they had of in the GU , id have one.
I thought about a c.r.a.b bar but still need to find a shoulder belt to go on it. Ive got an idea, just need to see if they fit when I get my hands on em.

That's what the ute is going to be for,,, getting dirty,,,when i find a chassis for it,,,when.
I came close to getting some dirt on the wagon on the weekend, came home from nightshift Sunday morning had a couple of coffees, seen the kids, threw some gear in the car and headed off with the intention meeting everyone at gnomesville. Figured I'd go at it backwards till I found em.
Made it to Mandurah and had to stop, coffee wore off, had a walk and rest and came home, something about ambitions and capabilities went awry.
Found my alternative seats today, wasn't that hard, getting em engineered/approved is not looking so swift though, but determined, I am

Spoke with the guys from Seatbelt Solutions http://seatbeltsolutions.com.au/ they have a sister company that already do a shoulder retractor for the GU . It means having a bar like a c.r.a.b fitted (rated for adults), but they have to check the legalities of putting it in a GQ .
My second aim was also to end up with a more comfortable middle seat, and the side ones ain't that flash either in the comfort department.
Next step will be to find an engineer who can sign off on it if persist with the seat swap. Could get expensive but means I get to have a Patrol and give my kids better safety, win win
