Can't believe I've already been travelling for 2 weeks! Lesson number one learnt - Pack LESS.
Assume most of the group are now on the road up to Port Douglas, when you get there we are all grouped together in the caravan park.
Allan and his mate Andrew arrived today, only Toyota in the group - good to see it was able to make it all the way up here from Brisbane

Some last minute shopping for supplies tomorrow and then time to catch some mud crabs.
    Cheers

The group is now together and ready to head of at 8am from Port Douglas to the Lions Den Hotel via the Bloomfield Track. Seven cars and thirteen people, unfortunately only two Patrols - Gu Camper and mine. There is one Ford Explorer a Toymota and the rest are Navaras.
RLI (Paul) - no mudcrabs yet, starting to wonder if your recommended bait is any good but I'll keep trying or get myself a cat.

Getting excited watching all the orange dust covered cars coming back, all saying how much they loved the trip - seems to be a lot of broken back windows as well.
    Cheers

    Hey All,

Camped with GU CAMPER and the Navara boys at Punsand. Good group and we have some entertaining members in our party. Even the two Toymota drivers are good company, just have no taste in cars.
GU CAMPER is the recovery vehicle from the looks of it, the drowned Prado and Hilux should have waited form him at Nolans!
Been a good trip so far and off to the tip in the morning.
Sorry no pictures as the Internet is crap.

And Paul (RLI) I'm using the cat food to catch some cats for mud crab bait.

    Cheers

    G'day folks,

    The latest from Apollofish!

    Regards,

    RLI

    "Hi Paul,

Trip is going great, phone and Internet connection is woeful!

Now at Punsand Bay and the crab pots are in the water waiting for me to check them in the morning. Then off to the tip for a look around. Fruit bat and Elliott Falls are marvelous, well worth the trip.

So far the Patrol is going well but sucking up the juice on the rough stuff, I did get a little water inside it and the van on a deep ford, was going to slow but all good. Looks like the fridge in the van is also stuffed, doesn't work on 12v or gas, trying 240 now so fingers crossed.

Got some good pics that I'll post when possible. The dust is pretty impressive around here.

Tell the guys that Nolans claimed a Prado and Hilux today. Apparently claimed a few cars already, two German tourists in a Britz hire car yesterday but that could be rumour.

Hope all is well with you and the family, glad the bank transfer worked this time. No idea what happened the last time as I used the same detail.

    Cheers

    Jack
