I just had swivel hub kits and new bearings installed in my GU and the place has charged me 8 hours labour, I was a bit shocked by the time they took, is this reasonable ???

That sounds fairly reasonable. My brother and I took the best part of a weekend (he's a mechanic).
If they were 4x4 specialists then maybe 6 or 7 hours, but 8 sounds about right

The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever.
WARNING: Towballs used for recoveries can, and do kill people and damage property.
cheap in my book, 8 hrs is more than fair
2002 3L GU Patrol, 2" lift, 33's, snorkel, dual battery, sliders, DVD, bluetooth
8hrs is average apparently but to be honest if they are qualified mechanics in a workshop with all tools handy, they should smash it out in 4-5. I reckon it took me and a mate 8-9hrs to do mine in the carport, including kingpin bearings.
