Hid light cuts out on start up if on

    Hi blokes,

Whenever I start my car with the headlights on (hid's) the left one cuts out and I have to switch the lights off and back on again.

If I start the car up and then turn on lights it's all good.

No biggie but just curious why this happens and if there is an easy fix?

lol If its a cheap ebay thing, it wouldnt surprise me. i put good ones from america in it after the ballast blew, never had any troubles with them. If you want to replace, spend the little bit extra, you wont be sorry

I'm guessing its a result of voltage drop on start up which makes me think if I even put a relay on there. I'm sure I did!

AB.....What is it with you and headlights.

I also think it more then likely a ballast problem.

Try swapping the passenger side ballast with the driver side one.

If you are keen to diagnose the problem you need to measure the voltage (positive and negative at the ballast) during cranking and engine running.

It could be a voltage drop in the HID wiring to the ballast.

Swapping the ballast over is an easy first test.

Is it one of Micks kits?
