This is the sunset from my drive way a few nights ago, with Venus taking pride of place, the sky lit dimly by the setting of a single nearby star.

Followed by the rise of our galaxy, the Milky Way, a few hours later, the sky lit by a billion distant stars.

East Coast Far North Qld. A beaut sunset followed by spectacular pre-dawn colours. Taken from a boat, which is cheating a bit, but was quite impressive all the same.
