Same car if you ask me. Same chassis, relatively similar components, exceptions with the gu is that it's fitted with plush items to suit the more "softer" population.

I took my GU out to glasshouse today. Apart from being more comfortable the GQ is far more at home in the rough stuff and just eats it up. I love both my patrols the gu is comfy while the gq is the tougher rig.

Where was my invite I didn't have much on today
Whoever appeals to the law against his fellow man is either a fool or a coward.
Whoever cannot take care of themselves without that law is both.
For a wounded man shall say to his assailant,
'If I live, I will kill you. If I die, You are forgiven.'
Such is the rule of honour.
Isnt the stock stadard GU just a beefed up stock stadard gq with a more fancy body on top? Surely its the value of the vehicles that prevents most GUs following the gqs through the more damaging trails

You are all wrong - the MQ Datsun Safari is in my mind the toughest. I have pulled many a Toyota Land Cruiser out of mud pits, etc. and some times did not even use the low range gears for that. Secondry to the MQ I will stand next to the GU first time, why? Because it is the next up from the MQ. Besides every Nissan patrol that has come out of history, has the DNA of the MQ ...
GQueens are for the tip! GUltimate = King of the trols!!!!!
