shouldnt take much pumpoing to get fuel out of lines.
maybe engine cranking will get fuel up to injectors?
unless you sucking air somewhere?

Hmm yeah hand pump is getting fuel to pump but can't seam to get it up to the injectors.does the ignition have to b on because the solinoids would stop it getting up there if its off wouldn't it ???
not sure how the newer diesel engines work. definately worth a try. can you pull hose off hand pump outlet to make sure fuel coming out of there. actually yes you would need that solenoid energised to get diesel working thru pump up to injectors. hope i am helping mate, just spitballin ideas.
Yes fuel is coming out but its comm g out really slow at the investors need to get the air out does anyone know how long this would take as we have been trying for ages
remove the overflow pipe off the fuel pump and pump the hand primer until clean fuel comes out with no air bubbles. you shouldn't need to crack the injector lines on a rotary pump.crank the engine over and if still no luck try a little squirt of aerostart to see if that helps. this is a stupid question but why was the pump replaced? was it a definite pump fault or was there a possibility of the immobiliser preventing the pump from delivering fuel.
dirtygu (17th April 2013)
the pump was replaced as i had no throttle contriol it just would idle and would not rev so i changed the tps switch and still just idled so it got diganosed as a posable pump ecu fault so i replaced the pump and hence my currant prob !!!!!!!we got fuel in the pump cracked the bleed valve got heaps of air out some fuel up to the injectors but not much still have heaps of air in side
put clear line between the fuel filter and pump to ensure there is no air entering the pump. Was the pump fault diagnosed with a psg breakout box to speak directly to the pump?. what codes were in the vehicles ecu? you could try a drum of CLEAN fuel above the pump and siphon the fuel down to the pump. at least you are then bypassing the whole supply side. is the pump you have fitted new or a fully reconditioned pump?so you can be sure the pump is good.a second hand pump may give you dramas if it hasn't had a verification done.
Its a recon pump taken out of a gu that had only done 5000k with the pump. No the old pump didnt have any codes my throttle just would work and the pump was making a weird noise when we took it out its a but stiff and has shaft play there is defiantly fuel getting to pump as its come out of the bleed line when ya crack it with heaps of air

Now just in - GQ Shorty 4.2 petrol, UHF - but looking at turbo or V8 conversion
If the engine will idle and your getting fuel out of the fuel pump supply line, run engine and crack each individually till you bleed air out then tighten injector line. bit messy but the best way to bleed air out of system. let the pump do all the work. IF THIS IS A COMMON RAIL ENGINE, DO NOT DO THIS AS FUEL PRESSURE IN THE RAIL IS OVER 18000psi. VERY DANGEROUS!!!
