    Great pics as usual. Especially love the finches. Believe it or not we have recently started getting Goldfinches in our garden here, only since the big fires around here in 2009. No Greenfinches though.

    I really know nothing about Aussie brid and wildlife, time to do some reading up for me mate.

    Splashed out on a D800 today as well. I`ll give it a whirl at the weekend, take some snaps of the car now it has its new lift fitted.
    It is now official, we are not quite so sh@t at cricket as we were! Rugby Union is a different matter.

    Cool, a D800 eh, i don't know much about the Nikons, but looks bloody nice mate, be interesting to see if it make a diffence to the end results ?

    @ fractser nothing better than seeing a flock of green Budgies in the wild.
    then all the sulphur crested, major mitchell, corellas cockies.
    Then the red tail black, gang gang, Some awesome wildlife,
    Didnt get too close but this chap in the pic waddled through camp
    last saturday arvo, had to be 6 ft easy.

    Its called a Goanna and a big one at that, not sure of species, Up the Northern Territory the big ones are called Perenti.
    It was feasting on dead fish. Here you're not allowed to return Carp to the river, huge no, no and big fine as well.

    Weather is bloody awful over here, but managed an hour yesterday. This is a massive crop from the original shot, the D800 gives you that option.

    One i`ve been after for ages, these got quite rare at one stage as people converted barns to houses. Anyway, the guy who owns the estate let me put some nest boxes up in some barns on his land, they reared 3 young last year and are back this year.
