    Pertronix Igniter

Hi, I had a pertronix non lobe sensing igniter but it stopped working, so I got a new one that is lobe sensing, fitted it and all was well for 2 months til it packed up. Luckily the dealer replaced it but now the vehicle wont start with the new one. I do have a new coil because I broke the + terminal off but it reads 4 ohms so should be fine. It starts straight away with points and condenser but hardly shows any sign of firing up with the igniter. Pertronix 1762 LS. I have tested voltage, connected coil + directly to battery etc but no difference. Can anyone shed some light please?

Hi mate. Not sure what the problem is but I have posted test instructions for the pertronix coil and ignitor. You'll find them in the manuals section

Cool,so I found the article in the other manuals section but can't view it until I have made 25 posts. Does anyone have any other suggestions on how to get the vehicle to work with the igniter?

    Re: Pertronix Igniter

You must be looking at the wrong thread. I've uploaded test instructions for the pertronix ignitor that is in a separate thread. It's called pertronix test instructions.
    Edit:
If you can't download then just get your post count up by welcoming a few new members and joining in a conversation or two. You'll have 25 posts in no time. Just dont post rubbish;-)
