Cool, yeh i guess if you dont want it copied, dont post it hey, but then its very hard to sell it, so catch 22 !

Ive never heard of a unauthorised use invoice before, are you getting commissioned to shoot , or just sell stuff freelance ?

And is there a "acting like a ignorant pig invoice", i could hand a few of them out (ha-ha)

Half decent camera must help, but I think you need that knack of knowing how to compose {frame} a photo.

Yeh the Camera does definatly help, although ,some cheap point and shoot cameras have as good a sensor as my old canon now, and are capable of great shots in the right hands.

Really, i see the main benefit of owning a DSLR, is all about the ability to change lenses, this allows the user to be so much more versatile.

But as you say, if you don't have a idea how to compose a shot, i doubt you will get many good ones, but if someone is not very good, but is still having fun, then nobody has the right to take that away from them !

Good cameras help, good lenses help even more mate. But patience is the main thing. Sometimes I sat for hours without seeing anything worth taking a shot of, sometimes I see loads within an hour of sitting down.

I struggle with landscape stuff, I see what I think is a great scene, take the shot and then realise it is crap when I get home. But it motivates to get better and try again. Entry level DSLRs are very good now, learning how to use them is the big thing that lots of people forget to bother with.

But as long as you enjoy what you do, what does it matter.

Sorry mate ,only just seen this.

I have done lots of commissioned work, mainly for country estates and industries over here. It is a very difficult market to get into as the people are very wary and tend to use people they trust. Since our economy went pear shaped, it is more to do with who you know now rather than what you know.

Unauthorised use? An example for you, some business in the UK decides they like one of my shots, they nick iot off the web and use it to promote themselves via advertising, if I spot it, then I send them an unauthorised use invoice. because the theiving gits didn`t buy it, they stole it. Basically, anything you post on the net can be stolen, the hard part is finding if they are being used commercially.

The earlier shot of the peregrines won we a good prize and sold for a good sum of money. But shots like that are not everyday type shots.

Im the other way around, i get real booooooooored sitting around waiting for animals and living stuff, but with landscape, the shot is pretty much there for discovery, and the best part ,it doesn't "move" (well i guess sunsets kinda move, but you know what i mean)

Yeh that would really s#!t me if someone stole my pic for commercial purposes, (your safe AB, you asked first, lol)

Actually, now i think of it someone has, I saw the guy on ebay selling the rear door strut kits for GUs, not only was he selling my idea like "he" thought of it, but he even stole the pic of my car and used it on his ad !

Here is a link to my original thread.....

    http://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forum...the-small-door)

one of the first pics you see, is the one that got used without permisson on the ebay ad, and the cheeky bugger, in a different ad for a strut for a GQ door, was saying something like, he will take legal action if anybody copies his strut designs !

Just look on ebay if you want to buy one , they pop up from different sellers all the time, and range from about $50-$70, its a awesome mod !
