    Problem with the cheaper reels are they only work great for a little while because of poor build quality and material quality. Like the gear is normal made of shit and will quickly deteriorate and jam up.
    I suppose they would be okay for infrequent users and once a year fishos.
    Been there, done that. Not worth the money spent.

    Its about maintenance if you wash your reels and rods after each use and lube them at the start of every season you wont have any dramas or atleast untill you need to replace the brakes, but that should be for a long time if you know what your doing

    Yes but still made of poor materials and definitely not water tight or sand tight for that matter.
    Why not choose a Great Wall 4x4 instead of Patrol. Just not the same.

    No clue sorry mate, never been to the area and all my fishing is salt water.

    Been using them for 2 yrs now no problems at all. IMO its value for money sofar $15 a year for two reels
    $10 for 3 years and so on. can't fault lures strong trebles, big O rings

    Agree with you there Mego.

    I prefer to spend a bit more on quality reels and rods and know that if I happen to hook something unexpected, like a 50lb Barra on a 20lb outfit, that the rod won't snap or the reel isn't going to explode half way through the fight. Both of which has happened to me in the past with lower quality gear.
