Mego,
One of my regular driving mates was doing trips around the high country for years in a bog standard early 120 Prado (no traction control either) until he had the dosh to begin modding it.......we used to call him tripod but it did everything he asked of it.
I was his regular navi and we needed some discretion with track choice but it certainly changed my view of the capabilities of a Prado (wash my mouth out I know)......
With the right track choices, your GU will do more than that Prado for sure......
1997 GQ Patrol RX, TB42E. Mods: OME 2" lift, 33" BFG KM2'S, ARB winch bar & reconditioned X9 Superwinch, IPF 900 spotties HID conversion, ARB side steps and scrub bars, Kaymar rear step & spare wheel carrier & jerry holder, Rear 55W LED worklight, Safari Snorkel, 147L LRA tank, Extended diff breathers, dual batteries, GME UHF, Home built drawer and fridge slide, ARB 60L fridge.
I am back to work tomorrow and I have not got a plan in place at all, I have my main jobs lined up but that is it.... all I can think about is this trip and all my brain power is spent planning things in my head!!!!
Got my baby back yesterday from the exhaust place and only drove one km then spent the day out with my daughter for her birthday so dont really know what she is running like???
Did not need to CAT either so more straight through than I was expecting.
I will bring my trailer but am not sure if I will bring bins yet??
Is it the 24th yet??
I should there boys just bought a 3ltr diesel
IF ITS NOT BROKEN IT MUST BE A PATROL

Busting my balls to get there, well more back, Mego you can drive mine if you want to park yours, But between you and me the Nissan Patrol would have to
be one the best 4x4,s straight off the showroom floor. one of the last of the live axle jobs, trust me would I lie to you.
Everyone should know convoy procedure, only worry about the guy behind you, eg aat an intersection wait till 4x4 behind you sees you flashes lights or indicates and take off, the 4x4 in front of you should be waiting as well for you if there is a turn etc, easy when you know how, plus most have UHF as well

04 ST 3lt auto, not enough Mods to keep me happy, but getting there
You should do alright mego but maybe a couple of sections on the harder tracks that you'd need to be smart about? What size tyres do you have?
