    That's why the oil pressure gauge shows dodgy readings on GQs. Not sure if the warning light runs off that circuit though?

    My fancy pants pov pak only has the light, maybe i should go buy some gauges

    99% chance it is the sender. They are very prone to getting grunged up and being slow to see the true pressure however if genuine then low oil pressure is something to be addressed quickly

    Given the cost/complexity of of rrsing about with the pump etc I would def recommend you try a "known" good sender first tho.

    Cheers mate. My ol girl has been very deep in it on a number of times,so i ll try a new sender. Just checked out the manual for replacing the oil pump and it doesnt look like a 5min job

    Pretty standard for a td42 and oil light to go out in about 5 secs. Oil pump isn't hard to do its only a gear pump. Different filters will take different time as well most these days have an anti drain back in them but they will still lose some oil being mounted horizontally.

    It never used to stay on for more than a second or 2 so i was just a lil concerned
