OH LEATHER IS NICE
This is the option I would go with.. STAY AWAY FROM THE CHEAP CHINESE SHIT!!! the effort it takes to mount all this up you would be so dissapointed with the cheaper option.
The first time you would really need to use your winch in an emergency the cheap option will let you down.
With BA here too many posts saying I bought a TIGERZ product and it , BROKE ,RIPPED, NEVER ARRIVED ,WON'T WORK ,DIDN'T FIT, CAN'T CONTACT THEM.
If you buy it you are saving NOTHING, OMG wait an extra week and buy the real deal. Your Question should be WHERE CAN I BUY A QUALITY Da Da Da.
You'll get a few answers that differ but none will say TIGERZ

ignoring the 4mm tiger plate, Reading the warn installation manual for my winch they reccomend between 3/16" and 1/4" for a mounting plate. Thats only 4.76-6.35mm I would have expected warn themselves to want something a little thicker then that???
This might change your mind, doing the rounds of a few shops this morning it was brought to my attention to read the TIGERZ fine print.
Somewhere in the little writing it says " NOT FOR OFF ROAD USE " if someone could confirm that it would be great. Go figure
not for offroad use,
Trekster you may find the Warn one very different, steel wise and design wise,
and yes you'd think Warn know their stuff
Everyone I've made have been 8mm or better

threedogs thanks again for replying,
funnily enough the diagram example in my book and the ones on the warn site are almost identical to the ones being sold on ebay, only difference being on the front face of the fairlead, they leave there ones solid across the whole front, whereas some of the others have a taper from the fairlead section to a smaller dimension on the ends.
I guess pictures speak a thousand words so I will show the images I have seen
from the warn site
and another warn with mounts to suit a jeep
and the copies online are like this:

I think there are a couple of reasons for the angles of the good cradle. I think it would allow the winch to sit inside of the bar, forward of the chassis rails.
If it was a straight bracket as above it would sit under the radiator were the holes are and be no good.
As for strength the "cut down" cradle would be as strong as the straight one.
For comparison, the arb winch bar is all 2.4mm sheet.. it has bends in the right places which gives it its strength..
Never underestimate steel..

I was asking about winch mounting plates some time ago.
I got onto one through here. I think 3 dogs helped me out with that one.
I did have a bit of trouble with hole centers, but nothing a file wouldn't fix.
It just bolted straight in, and from memory i think its 8mm plate formed to suit the GU chassis and fully welded.
As of today finally i will get the winch working.
Had a bad run with solenoids, 2 new ones burnt out from seaford. Another mechanic supplied me another free of charge, new also. It was knackered.
Turned out all of them in VIC were also knackered, but she is a goer now.
Im sure mine was not expensive.
All the best with the winch.
