    I await your advice!

I think you'll find that this is the turbo that is all the craze at the moment. UFI in Perth modify these and are achieving excellent results. I dont know if they are exactly the same, but UFI sell TD05 turbo's, all sizes. Have a search on here for TD05, there is a heap of info on this turbo, I for one will be looking at this aswell, as soon as I have rebuilt my 42.

Yes I have heard of them. They have quite a good range of turbos. The price is very affordable. I havent heard any feed back about these items. I have just had my upgraded turbo from UFI so when I get home I will be able to confirm whether its a kinagawa item or MHI (Mitsubishi Heavy Industries). Im hoping for the coin I have paid its a MHI item.

Had a work mate bought from this guy few weeks ago, its not yet installed so can't tell you if it works or not.

Its not a genuine Mitsubishi item. Its a copy. The seller is in China not Japan, the item was dispatched from China Taiwan.

    Hope that helps you decide.

    G'day folks,

I have to say, i cannot get over the prompt response from "Driven Performance" in New Zealand the one of the distributors for Kinugawa Turbochargers. The following e-mails below are the latest info i have researched. Enjoy!

    Regards,

    RLI

    G'day,To whom it may concern!

My name is Paul and I am looking to increase the power/torque from my 2001 Nissan Patrol ST 4.2 Turbo diesel manual wagon.

At present I really struggle to tow my caravan with the current factory set-up.

Could you please provide me with a quote and which set-up would suit my needs for me to increase my power/torque for the Patrol.

Please note that I am not looking for a power-monster, I just would like the right balance for my towing requirements.

Look forward to doing business with you soon.

    Kind regards,

    Paul

    Importance: High

    Hi Paul.

We do a range of Kinugawa turbos suitable for the TD42 Patrol motor. Basically there are 2 exhaust housings (6cm and 8cm) and then 3 compressor wheel options (16G, 18G and 20G). They all use the same TD05 turbine wheel.

Exhaust housing relates mostly to spool time. The smaller 6cm housings are a quick spool, so if low down torque is more important to you, that would be my suggestion. Then it’s a matter of selecting the comp wheel. The 16G will be the mildest upgrade, the 20G the most extreme. Once again the larger 20G wheel will take a little longer to come on boost than the smaller 18G which will take slightly longer than the 16G. A good place to start would be the 6cm housing with 18G comp wheel in my opinion, so this item here: http://www.drivenperformance.co.nz/s...idproduct=2133

We can provide this unit shipped to your door for $1199 NZD.

    Kind regards,

    G’day AL,

Thanks for your prompt response and great advice.

Could you please advise me if I need to modify anything to fit this turbo to my Patrol, can i just un-bolt the old factory one and bolt your one straight on?

I am also looking at fitting an 3inch exhaust system to the Patrol, due you sell a dump pipe to suit?

    Regards,

    Paul

    [I]Hi Paul.

These turbos bolt up to your existing manifold, so no modification needed there. They also come with a fitting kit. We don’t sell a dump pipe specific to your vehicle, but these turbos come with a v-band flange to make the dump pipe from – so your local exhaust shop can just weld up a section of pipe direct to that flange and it will clamp in place to the rear of the turbo.

    Cheers!

    G'day johno90,

What model Patrol do you have, i have a 2001 4.2 factory turbo diesel wagon, i am looking for someone who has replaced there factory turbo with one of these units, to find out if it was an easy swap or what mods were needed to complete the job. I am hoping you might be able to shed some valuable info mate!
