Replacing my 1990 GQ stearing box.

So i've read a few things on the forums about the GU stearing box being an upgrade from a GQ steating box. So I've found these and i'm certain these 2 will do, Could anyone help me out here and make sure I haven't stuffed up anything before I order them?

Whats posted in that link above is all correct. The GU power steering box will bolt directly in place of the GQ power steering box with no mods needed to the bolt holes or the power steering lines themselves.

There is a difference in the taper of the tie rod ends that locates in the pitman arm between the GQ & GU, the GQ being slightly larger of the two. An appropriate adjustable drag link would have to be used when fitting a GU power steering box into a GQ with the appropriate GU tie rod end fitted to the pitman arm end of the drag link & the appropriate GQ tie rod end fitted into the apposing end. When fitting the adjustable Drag link with the appropriate ends now installed, you will need to fit the end with the GU tie rid end fitted to the pitman arm & from the top, not from underneath as it was previous with the GQ power steering box & pitman arm. Fit the other end into the arm attached to the swivel hob in the same way as the original came out.

I hope this is the type of information your after.

Best of luck with your mod...
