    I don't believe you should fit a dawes valve to a crd. Can someone clarify this ?

    You can safely fit a Dawes to a CRD to take boost control away from the ECU. The 2007 CRD ECU (first of the CRDs) can occasionally struggle to control boost if you add an exhaust, lots of them getting around with Dawes valves. In 2008 the ECU was revised and it seems to handle boost control better for some reason.
