The exhaust is the best thing you can improve on a CRD. A chip with stock exhaust is a waste of money, with a bigger exhaust the chip really get the engine working nicely.

However, you might get a similar improvement with exhaust and a Cross Country (or other good brand) heavy duty intercooler, and Nissan would probably be happy to see an aftermarket intercooler there because they won't have a warranty claim to deal with when the standard intercooler tanks crack...

I have looked at getting the tiapan exhaust, intercooler and steinbauer chip fitted but that is a fair bit of money in the 3 so will probably just get a beaudesert or scotts rods exhaust then chip later on and yeah have heard some average things on Nissan intercoolers

Oh not they don't. They can do to you what they are doing to us - fiddle fart around until you either give up, or make the diagnosis yourself. Nissan do not want to know you if the repair under warranty is going to cost them. And our Patrol isn't modified in any way. Check out the "Overheating 2010 GU Patrol" thread in this forum. Be very, VERY wary of a wounded Patrol, especially if Nissan Australia think they can blame a prospective warranty claim on a modification done by a non-Nissan dealer.

You'll find you wont get much improvement from just doing one mod, its the combination of them that you'll notice for sure,eg chip + Zorst
First up though I'd still be doing the pillar pod and guages, Mans gotta know whats happening under the bonnet.
Write down all you can think of before you do any mods, like fuel consumption etc.
Will be interesting to see any difference once you stop driving it with your foot in it, we all do it after chip and zorst.
04 ST 3lt auto, not enough Mods to keep me happy, but getting there

Block the EGR, and fit a catch can, before modding the engine for more power.
EGR is the undoing of any engine, have a look at "flash gordons "pics and make your own mind up.
