    Petronix Coil v Fuelmiser Ignition - Advice please

    hi all
    i have just had a problem with my petronix flamethrower 11 coil and replaced it with a fuelmiser electronic ignition coil oil filled and i was wondering if this should work ok. the petronix lasted a little over 12months so i wanted a diff option. what is everyone thoughts

    It depends on what kit you're using, some require you to use a ballast resistor. Check the coil specs and see if it's needed or not. I had an early crane cams kit that used a ballast, the coil was a Bosch GT40 and it lasted for years. My new ignition uses am electronic coil and straight 12v.

    If you're running a non resisted coil on 12v they'll blow out quickly.
