If I had to choose between the two I'd go for the MT's, They are a brilliant tyre as are the Cooper's, terrific off road performance and they don't have the "Cooper Left Pull" which is no fault of the tyre, It's caused by extra movement in the deeper tread running with the camber of our brilliant roads, In the states it's a non-issue due to there dead flat roads, also a non isssue with any vehicle with Camber/Caster adjustment as you can easily correct it. I drive a GQ so thats not an option. However my tyre of choice would have to be Maxxis M/T's cost effective and a very low claim rate and driving a GQ what's a bit of extra noise.

Ive had both the MTZ & S/T Maxx (which im wearing at the moment) on my GU 265/75R16 (33's), I found the MTZ's were all over the road, wondering, vibrating, steering tracking, noisey, wear quickly etc, tried everything to fix the problems with no result.
How ever the S/T Maxx feels brilliant on the road "No Cooper Left Pull", no complaints at all, & is a pretty aggressive tread & side wall tread for an A/T tire.
I do have OME 2" lift with caster bushes, S/T Maxx wins hands down, between MT's & Cooper. How ever i cant comment on your Maxxis M/T's
Now Divorced I can do what i like when i like. How good is life now
02 GU111 Patrol 3.0TD Man, Chipped, Redback 2.5" Exhaust, Safari Snorkel, OME 2'' Lift, ARB W/Bar, Tigerz11 12000Lb Winch & R/Rack, IPF Lights, Cooper S/T Maxx 33's, Dual battery system, Uniden UHF, ARB fridge/freezer on ARB Slider, & heaps more
