Starting problem

I have a 2000 3.0TD. It had a long motor put in it last year. $10000 of work done to it so everything is either new or reconditioned...

Sometimes when I start it cold or hot it will idle a bit rough. All I have to do is tap the accelerator and after that it never misses a beat. It doesn't happen very often but its just annoying!

Hi boosh
Have you checked your fuel filter for leaks.
Befor every start prime the filter using the hand pump. If car starts with no rough idle you might have an air leak into fuel system.
