Hi all,
Can anyone give me some information on my GU Patrol with anchor points on the front and rear end. Are the standard ones sufficient or is it safer to add a higher rated one.
Thanks John![]()

Lots and lots of opinion on this issue John - try searching on Recovery Points. Doubtless some of the more recent members will have something to say, too

I recently started a thread on this topic, see below

As silver suggests try searching too, there's a bit out there.

G'day John. I suspect you mean the "tow" hook at the front. Some have fitted after market recovery brackets but many use just the hook. If you have a HR towbar then most people use the pin as the recovery point although you can buy a billet insert. The "anchor" points are for tie down only and NOT for recovery. Hope this helps.

Yeah GU's look good with anchors holging them down in the surf. Hahahahahahahaha.
Go the old Real Patrols G60 MQ/MK. PML!!!!

The QNPC uses the factory recovery point in Driver Awareness Program as a rated recovery point. When you think about it, that big thick hook (specifically designed as recovery point) against the thinner pin in a rated shackle, hich one is stronger?
But don't get confused with transport tie down points.
